Biography

Imran Ahmed is a guitarist/composer/songwriter hailing from Karachi-Pakistan. He was recognized internationally when one of his poetry “Choose the Hard way” was selected by Hollywood Artist Record Company USA way back in 1989/90. After that there was no turning back, he then performed on international level with the likes of Royal Albert Hall in London and various places of The United States. Imran Ahmed has formed is own band Nkounter with musicians from Tennessee USA the band has released their self-titled album on all digital platforms around the world.  

“Music has always been my forte and I want to take up music full-fledged in future, as I think that music is my life and I cannot live without it.” Says  Imran.
He has worked with various artists around the world and has appeared countless times on local Television and international as well as local print media. Imran Ahmed has twice appeared in a reputable Music Magazine “Fair Play Country Music” and many local Newspapers and Magazines in Pakistan. 

Imran Ahmed formed Project X and got tremendous amount of airplay from different Radio stations throughout the world. He is a Nominated artist of Independent American Music Awards aka The Josie Music Awards 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 and Winner of 2017 The Josie Music Awards held at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee USA in the category of “World Musician of the year” in the year 2017.
 

In 2019 he won the ISSA Awards (International Singer Songwriters Association) Held on August 3^rd 2019 at Georgia Atlanta USA, in Male Rising Star Category and the only Pakistani musician to reach that status.

Imran Ahmed is a member of Indie Collaborative and his single “Trapped Within” is released on Bongo Boy Record founded by Monique Grimme. Moreover, his instrumental EP “All Guns Blazing” is released on independent label Dr John’s Surgery Record. Imran Ahmed is an official judge of 2020 ISSA Awards (International Singers Songwriters Association) and also an official judge for The Red Carpet Awards Show in Holland (Fair Play Country Music) and winner of FPCM International Collaboration Award

Recently, Imran Ahmed’s Song ‘Believe in you-Believe in me’ co-written by US musician Ricky Davis is selected by a mini-series called “Hunting Jessica” directed by Lisa Lee Martin.

In 2023 Imran Ahmed won the Accolades Exceptional Songwriter & Song Specific Accolade Awards in the category of International Breakthrough Artist.

Moreover, Imran Ahmed was given the position of Executive Co-Director of ISSA Awards (International Singer- Songwriters Associations -USA)

Nkounter’s music cannot be labelled, the influences ranges from 90’s rock/Grunge to 80’s rock/metal to contemporary rock. Hell, there’s a Middle Eastern touch to it as well. Nkounter’s music is intelligent –Yes the lyrics are thought- provoking and the music is in your face, raw, aggressive yet melodic.
